About This Role
We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Counter / Inside Sales Representative to join our team in Brockton, MA. In this role, you will be the face of our branch, assisting walk-in contractors and commercial customers at the sales counter, while also managing phone inquiries and processing orders. You will build strong relationships, provide product expertise, and ensure an exceptional service experience that keeps our customers coming back.
What You'll Do
- Assist walk-in customers and contractors at the sales counter by identifying their needs, providing product information, and processing orders accurately.
- Answer incoming phone calls and emails promptly to provide price quotes, check inventory availability, and handle customer inquiries.
- Proactively follow up on open quotes and identify opportunities to cross-sell or up-sell complementary products.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure orders are pulled correctly and ready for customer pickup or delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked counter and showroom display area.
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport with contractors and tradespeople.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems, order entry software, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs to assist with counter orders.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in counter sales, inside sales, or customer service, preferably within a wholesale, industrial, or retail trade environment.
- Prior product knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or construction supplies.
- Experience with ERP inventory management software.
