Commercial Flooring Project Manager
About This Role
Rocky Mountain TLC – Glenwood Springs Carpet One is seeking a highly organized Commercial Flooring Project Manager to join our team. This position works closely with General Contractors, Architects, Designers, Installers, and Vendors to successfully manage commercial flooring projects from bid award through project completion.
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating multiple moving pieces, and taking ownership of projects. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to keep projects moving forward with minimal supervision.
This position may be based from either our Glenwood Springs or Craig, Colorado location and will support commercial flooring projects throughout Western Colorado.
What You'll Do
- Manage commercial flooring projects from project takeoff through final completion
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents to understand project requirements
- Coordinate project schedules, material deliveries, labor resources, and installation timelines
- Track project progress and proactively address potential delays or issues
- Manage project budgets and monitor profitability throughout the project lifecycle
- Serve as the primary point of contact for General Contractors, Architects, Designers, Vendors, and Installation Teams
- Participate in project meetings and jobsite visits as needed
- Communicate project updates, scheduling changes, and solutions to stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers and project partners
- Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and closeout documentation
- Maintain accurate project records and job files
- Assist with estimating and project handoff activities when needed
- Ensure project documentation is completed accurately and on time
- Identify project challenges early and develop practical solutions
- Coordinate resolutions to field issues and installation concerns
- Conduct jobsite inspections and quality checks
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to company quality standards
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, flooring, project management, estimating, field supervision, or a related role
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Western Colorado
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Nice to Have
- Commercial flooring experience
- Experience working with General Contractors and Division 9 specifications
- Knowledge of RFMS, MeasureSquare, Bluebeam, or similar software
- Familiarity with AIA contracts and construction documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Forklift experience (training available)
