MOD BIKES is looking for a Full-Time E-Bike Mechanic to join our Garage team in Austin, TX. Description
We're looking for a skilled, detail-oriented bike mechanic to join our Garage team — someone who takes real pride in their work and wants to grow with a company that's still building its playbook. E-bike experience is a big plus, but a strong mechanical foundation and a genuine willingness to learn our systems matters just as much.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric bikes, including tune-ups, drivetrain and brake adjustments, and general troubleshooting
- Assemble and tune new e-bikes to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Perform safety checks, inspections, and diagnostics on incoming bikes
- Maintain the MOD demo fleet so bikes are always ride-ready
- Assist with bike packing and shipping as needed
- Support the sales team with test ride prep and light bike adjustments
- Keep the workshop clean and organized and make sure tools and equipment are properly cared for
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a bike mechanic (e-bike experience a plus)
- Strong working knowledge of drivetrain systems, brake systems (mechanical & hydraulic), and bike assembly
- Attention to detail and a real commitment to quality and safety
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and maneuver e-bikes (up to 75 lbs)
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Basic computer skills — comfort with tools like Shopify, Slack, or Freshdesk a plus
Nice to Have
- Experience working with e-bike systems such as Shimano, Bafang, or Bosch
- General handyman skills — basic welding or light woodworking
