Retail Sales Associate

What You'll Do

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Building lasting relationships with customers by actively listening to their needs and recommending products that exceed their expectations.
• Assisting with daily store operations, such as restocking, cleaning, and maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
• Providing exceptional customer service by being approachable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about our products and services.
• Staying up-to-date on current sales, promotions, and policies to ensure seamless customer interactions.
• Ensuring a safe and secure shopping experience by following store procedures and protocols.
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including the sales floor, stockroom, and back office.
• Preparing merchandise for display and sales, including setting up displays and arranging products in an attractive and inviting manner.
• Operating cash registers, handling transactions, and providing excellent customer service during peak periods.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and management to drive sales and achieve business objectives.
• Participating in ongoing training and development to enhance product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service expertise.
• Performing other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the store.

Requirements

Requirements include:

• Previous experience as a retail sales associate, preferably in a bike shop environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of the job.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating a commitment to excellent customer service and sales results.
• Interest in developing own skills and knowledge, with a desire to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on business needs.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds periodically and maintain a safe working environment.
• Previous experience with bike sales, customer service, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a retail sales associate, with a proven track record of success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Preferred candidates will have experience with:

• Cash registers and point-of-sale systems
• Barcode scanners and handheld computer devices
• Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word
• Adjustable wrenches, pliers, and other tools
• Desktop computers and other hardware
• Point-of-sale software and other systems
